High atop Burkemont Mountain with views of both Morganton and the Lake James area, as well as South Mountain Views and even the Charlotte skyline on a clear day. Enjoy the views from Walker Top Mtn. which is approximately 2,830 feet above sea level and surrounded by over 20,000 acres of South Mountain State Park. Our retreat is located on 2.5 private acres in a gated community.
Our home features: 3BR/2.5BA, The main level great room has a wall of windows that overlook the South Mountains and an open design to the kitchen and dining area, along with a half bath, and master bedroom with king bed and master bath. Both the great room and master bedroom have doors that open to the upper deck.
The lower level has a family game room with foosball and TV, a bedroom with a queen bed, and another bedroom with a queen bed and 2 bunks in the wall. There is a full bath on this level also, along with the laundry room. We have WiFi with Smart TVs, no cable or satellite, but they are ready for you to log into your suscriptions and view.
There is plenty of seating on the decks, screen porch, or patio area by the fireplace to take in the views!
We are conveniently located midway between Charlotte and Asheville, just off I-40. Drive time is 20 minutes from I-40. We are located at the top of a mountain and do recommend 4×4 vehicles in winter months, typically Dec-mid March. Cancellations can only be made for road closures.
